Along with this shipment of blood, we would like to pass on a few ideas about our product and system. We ask that you use our blood quickly; you will get the best results if you can use the blood within 7 days of collection. You will find the date on which the we drew the blood on each label, followed by the expiration date. Please unpack the blood on arrival and store away from direct light at 3 to 8 degrees Centigrade (38° – 46° F). We have done extensive testing of our blood in actual media production, and have found that most hemolysis and aging problems are a result of not following these guidelines closely.

We make our bags from FDA approved Class VI PVC film, which is non-toxic and suitable for blood storage. Our bags have an internal foam filter that traps microaggregates better than a screen filter, while allowing a high flow rate. We hope it works well for you, and appreciate any comments as we are continuously improving our products. The outlet is a standard luer lock fitting, and other connections are available by special order. We will work with you to adapt our product to your system; please contact us if you experience any difficulty.

We test each lot for hematocrit and serum color, and write the packed cell volume in percentage form on the label. We strive to maintain high standards in our blood products through careful selection and collection procedures that are unique to this industry. We ship all sheep blood orders within 48 hours of collection (usually less) to ensure you receive a fresh product.
